Pieces in our Barn wood Collection are made with authentic weathered barn boards. They are all unique and each will have its own varying degree of texture, thickness, nail holes and saw marks. The "inperfections" give character and provide a truly distinctive piece. We also use reclaimed old square head nails to achieve a historic look.
To protect your table's finish, we use the finest natural waxes including beeswax and carnuba wax, a vegtable wax obtained from the fronds of the carnauba palm of Brazil. These waxes help to protect the original quality of the wood.
Got Milk Paint?
For our painted pieces, we use milk paint just like Colonial American craftsmen used to finish
their furniture. Not only does this achieve a rich and natural patina but the paint contains the same basic natural ingredients used for the past hundreds of years - milk protein, lime and earth pigments that will not harm the environment. Milk paint is a versatile finish and can be antiqued for a rustic look or it can be made to look more sleek and contemporary.
